The standard we work toward

Lifetime Roofing of El Paso wants this site to work for people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, or a screen magnifier. Our goal is Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, the published standard for making web pages usable by people with disabilities.

How we check this site

We test pages with axe-core, an automated accessibility checker, against the WCAG AA rules. A checker can't catch everything, and some things, like text over a photo, still need a person's eye. That's why this statement doesn't claim the site fully meets WCAG 2.1 AA.

What's built into these pages

• A skip link, the first stop for keyboard users, jumps past the menu to the page.
• A visible outline shows which link or button the keyboard is on.
• Photos carry text descriptions that screen readers can read aloud.
• Each page has one main heading, with section headings in order under it.
• Phone numbers are links you can tap or click to call.

Where you may still have trouble

Some pages have motion that keeps running, such as rain falling on a roof drawing and a slow drift on the homepage photo. It doesn't pause, and it doesn't stop when your device is set to reduce motion.

What this site relies on

This site uses HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA, a set of labels for screen readers. They need to work with your browser and any assistive technology you use.
